Spring has sprung

This is where Race for Life is going to be held, so I thought I'd start training there once a week. Doesn't it look great? Daffodils almost as far as the eye can see. Definitely the best time of the year in this park.

Red Nose Day 2009

Some Red Nose Day impressions:

1. Non uniform day and Bad hair day at I's school. I felt I was sending Britney Spears to school rather than my not quite ten year old daughter.

2. Cake sale at work. Our department has for the last 10 years or so made cakes and sold them. Most other departments help out and we end up with three tables full of cakes. Raised £250 in total, thanks to someone doing a book sale and the project managers wearing a red nose every time they left their desk.

3. Crying at the images on the telly in the evening. Life's very unfair.

4. Laughing at the Mamma Mia parody.

5. Feeling very pleased that despite so many people having to watch what they spend, another record amount was raised. It's something that we do well over here, fundraising.

Knitting story

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/arts/afternoon_reading.shtml

Radio 4 had three stories from the Bath Literary Festival last week. I always have the radio on while I work but don't always listen properly, but at the word 'knitting' my ears pricked up and then I had to stop working as the story was so good. It was funny, it was poignant and it involved knitting - what more can you ask for.

The above link will take you to the Listen Again website. Click on Tuesday 3 March. It's only 15 minutes and it's worth listening to!
